Party on the Plaza on October 1st.Lenfest Plaza is open for business, adorned with renowned sculptor Claes Oldenberg’s colorful new Paint Torch. PAFA is throwing a party on Saturday, October 1st to open this exciting new chapter.
BUT WHAT’S IN IT FOR THE KIDS?
PAFA is kicking off the day with a free Family Arts Festival from noon to 5pm. They will be featuring hands-on arts activities such as printmaking, spin art, face painting and more, along with appearances by Kathy O’Connell of WXPN’s Kids Corner, IllStyle and Peace Hip Hop, and the Philadelphia Boys’ Choir & Chorale, among others. There will also be food vendors on hand to keep little stomachs happy.
You can also view PAFA’s outstanding collection of American art in our Historic Landmark Building with free admission and tour guides on hand until 5pm. And at 6:30pm, you can witness the inaugural lighting of the 51-ft sculpture, Paint Torch.
