I will fully admit that I check to see what the Living Social deal is almost everyday. However I am starting to feel a little, well, dealed-out. They all offer all the same cycle of deals: prints, yoga, magazines, massage, facial, repeat. And now another one just hit the scene called Juice in the City and their shtick is that it is a company run by moms for moms. They are trying to differenciate themselves buy hiring moms to go out into their communites and get business owners to offer deals. I am assuming the moms get a cut of how many deals are sold.
Another way they are trying to differentiate themselves is the Expereinced By corner. This is where a deal user says wonderful things about the deal / product. The first deal was experienced by the owner and would you believe she LOVED it? Most of us buy those deals and then let them sit. The sale is over before any of us actually do the deal. So they should tuck the Propaganda corner in the back for now.
I have to comment on one more thing. Their first deal write up goes like this:
There’s nothing like the sturdy feel of a fine paper product in one’s hand – and it’s exactly that type of invitation or announcement that will get tucked away as a cherished keepsake.
Ahh this is a Lifetime Movie just waiting to happen. They need to swing a little less to the door to door salesman approach of the 50’s and a little more to the Daily Candy side. Bottom line their is a lot of competition for our dollars out there and the proof is in the pudding…or who can get us a deal on pudding. Happy Shopping!
