After I saw the segment on the Today Show about the success people are having by creating an early morning workout community I got to thinking. Platoon Fitness (*cough Best of Philly 2011) where I go runs an early morning workout group at the Art Museum. Why should the Art Museum neighborhood be more fit than No Libs? No Libs is a tight community and maybe just maybe our hipster buns could be tighter?
So here is what I am doing. I called Platoon Fitness owner Todd Scott and asked for one of his trainers to run an early morning work out session for the No Libs community. He is totally game. Maybe it will be at Tip Top, maybe it will be at Liberty Lands? The most important thing is that it is 5 minutes from you rolling out of your bed to you busting your butt. Never heard of Platoon…well it is basically like an episode of The Biggest Loser with no yelling (the crying is up to you).
I need an minimum of 5 people that want to make this community more superficially attractive, motivate each other to keep at it, and get healthy. We are cooler than the Art Museum Area but now we just need to look better in skinny jeans (which won’t seem to go away).
Here is the deal classes would be twice a week (maybe one weekday and one weekend) at 6:00, $25/ each and I need a minimum of 5 people to kick it off. Commit to one day or commit to two whatever works with your schedule. Kid’s don’t count. I know they are really the only ones up at 6:00 a.m. but they don’t count.
