Had a rough week? Feeling a little defeated? Me too. So I was really glad when Liz Kinder gave me the chance for a little extra karma points this morning.
Two very different development groups, presenting two very different plans for re-visioning the Rivage site in East Falls, made their pitches to a well-attended community meeting Wednesday night. Now we get to participate in the voting. It doesn’t matter that we don’t live in East Fall what matters is great, well designed and environmentally friendly buildings for everyone. And apparently there is a hipster community in East Falls (who knew?). So who better to get the project then No Lib’s (mecca of all things hip-sta) very own Tim McDonald (dad to Steel, Jack Peter and Toby)
Tim McDonald, president of Onion Flats, presented their plan for The Ridge, a blend of 126 one- and two-bedroom apartments with 8,700 square feet of retail space in a project designed to be “net-zero energy” — the entire complex would generate much of its own heat through extensive use of green roofs, a solar array, and other building techniques.
