Tyler Arboretum
515 Painter Road Media, PA 19063 visit website>I am working on getting out to Tyler Arboretum but I still wanted to share an upcoming event that your little ones might like. The Butterflies and Buggy Buddies event is on Sunday, September 2, from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. The event is free with regular admission. At this event your little ones will be able to say farewell to the Tyler Arboretum’s monarchs as they begin their amazing journey, flying thousands of miles to the mountainous cloud forest of Mexico. As the butterflies depart, they will be tagged for Monarch Watch, an educational outreach program that uses citizen scientists to track migration patterns.
Monarchs may be the stars of this family-friendly celebration, but they are not the only buggy buddies you will find. Discover live insects from around the world with Jon the Bugman, dig for wiggly worms while learning about worm composting and practice how to eat like a bug, play insect games, participate in Bug Olympics, and have fun with make-and-take crafts. Use your imagination to draw insect chalk murals on Arboretum sidewalks. Families are invited to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the grounds.
Event is free with regular admission; $9 Adults, $5 kids (ages 3-15), under age 3 free and always FREE for members. Rain or shine.
