Mama’s Wellness Joint
1100 Pine Street Philadelphia, PA 19107 visit website>It is true I am a sucker for beautiful packaging sooooo that means I am a sucker for the newly opened Mama’s Wellness Joint. They just opened and of course Ollie and I came crashing through the door with our camera and questions. The first thing I noticed? Plenty of room to park your stroller. The second thing I noticed was the beautiful yoga room. You step up into this room of bright white where the main focus is on this organic spiral in the center of the room. There is no clutter, no toys and no laundry to fold. But I am getting ahead of myself….I am sure you are like “what is this Joint all about?….”
Paige Chapman is the lady behind Mama’s Wellness Joint and she is a Philly-born doula and yoga instructor. I think the Joint is about to become Philly’s latest little Mama hub with its Wellness Workshops, yoga for adults, kids & families (including Daddy and Me), birth and breastfeeding education, support groups and an in-house masseuse….and I am just naming a few thing. psst…Check out below on how you can score a free class.
Like I said they just opened so I am thinking of trying the 10:30 a.m. Kid’s Yoga Class Series (2-4 years old) which kicks off next Monday. Ollie is a little too young so I was on the fence but not much is open on Mondays and I loved the class description:
In a 6 week series for 2-4 year olds, we will explore breathing and yoga postures through creative story-telling, playful exercises, and child-oriented meditations. The 45 minute classes will offer our toddlers a safe environment to play, explore, and experience the wonderful benefits of yoga including centering, self-expression, balance, and flexibility. The classes have been structured to teach our young children frustration tolerance, impulse control, turn-taking and socialization. In addition, the games and stories will help support learning about numbers, animals, working with others, and self-regulation. Parents and caretakers are asked to stay for the session although participation is not necessary (but welcomed).
I can also see the entire crew checking out the 10:00 a.m. Family Yoga Class on Sunday mornings (pricing) and then grabbing brunch. And by brunch I mean lunch because this house wakes up at 7:00 a.m. psst…Check out below on how you can score a free class.

GOOD TO KNOW: If you are driving there I did find four open spots as I circled the block and seven quarters bout me 53 minutes. Hate parallel parking? There is a parking garage down the street on 11th Street. Also the entrance is on 11th street. AND Seger Playground is right down the street (open with a touch of construction) and will make a great little add-on to your yoga session. AND psst…you can totally take a class for free if you keep reading.
THE PSST. PART….
I would love it if HipsterHenry.com readers could help me review Mama’s Wellness Joint soooo….

Went there for a yoga class yesterday and I can’t wait to go back. Space is a retreat, Paige and her mom and super sweet and Paige’s class struck a perfect balance between movement and relaxation.
