Over the bridge and through the suburbs to Johnson’s Corner Farm we went. Why did we head out there in cold weather? Truth be told Johnson’s Corner Farm is a client and I have been working on their holiday schedule. Every time I work on the JCF calendar I added to my to-do list for the boys of things we were going to do there.
Today we checked Santa (#3), Prancer, S’mores, Playground, Horse Drawn Hayride, Giant Snicker Doodle Cookies and two Christmas Trees off our list! So basically we had a slam dunk morning. Our visit with Santa was easy and without a line. The boys happily worked off their energy in the Discovery Barnyard and gave an excited wave to Prancer before we hopped on the horse-drawn hayride. The boys loved the giant horses and I love the sound of the sleigh bells as we trotted around the farm. There are a few blankets on the hayride but bring your own especially if you are going at night. We went during the day and it was chilly. I can’t imagine what it is like at night.
The boys were then herded over to pick out a Christmas tree. There you will find 4-5 smiley high schoolers that are ready to wrap and the load the tree of your choice on the top of your car. They scale your car, tie it down and off you go.
To plan your day you can go to johnsonsfarm.com/events. When you get there head into the farm market and buy tickets for what you would like to do. Santa is free – bring your own camera. I ended up using my season pass for the Discovery Barnyard and I bought tickets for s’mores and the hayride. They have a few different kinds of trees and they start at about $44.00.
You can use this $5.00 off coupon for a Johnson’s Corner Farm Christmas tree until 12/18. Scroll all the way to the bottom and you will see it. Happy Holidays!
