Carpenter’s Square Mall 609-408-8820We beat the heat most weekends in Cape May and this weekend my Grandmom informed me of a new ice cream place, Bliss Organic Homemade Ice Cream. Weekends are for relaxing but for you my dedicated readers I decided to take one for the team and go check it out.

The owners Mike & Nicole Boschen have two little girls so right away I know that they have quality taste testers on staff. Which is a true sign of any good establishment. Right now the place is bare bones so my first thought is… this is going to be good because they are focused on the product and not hoopla. I am a genius (confidence is important for kids to have) because I could have not been more right…
Ureka! Finally something besides the basics
If you are a kid foodie you will appreciate flavors like mint chocolate chip cookie, cherry cheese cake and maple bacon. You can have fudge ripple anytime at home…live a little would ya! The flavors are written on a big piece of paper and when they are out they are out and 86 them off the menu for the night. In other words get there before everyone else does.
Because it is homemade the consitancey of some flavors is a little icyier than mass produced flavors. The price is also $5.00. I first thought that was high but then I thought about it some more. At restaurants your parents pay $8.00 and up without batting an eyelash for a piece of pie that isn’t organic and probably is not homemade. So I think for “special” (not from a powder mix and has not been sitting in a tub for days) ice cream we can pay a little more.
Another thing I love is that they asked us to make comments on Facebook about what we liked and what flavors we would like to see them offer. Any good business knows that the more conversations you have and the more accessable you are to your customers the more successful your business will be. Thank you Bliss for knowing that the under 5 crowd matters.
My only comments for now are keep the fun flavors coming and maybe set up a Twitter account so people can easy find out what new flavors you have. Yes this two year tweets…you should read it I am hilarious (see earlier confidence comments) @hipster_henry.
