Today I got an unexpected surprise. After a trip the Franklin Institute I by-passed the usual hot dog guy that is there. You know the one that over charges for everything…and made my way over to a psychedelic painted food truck called Honest Tom’s. The menu is on the chalkboard, it is short, sweet and perfect. You give Honest Tom your order, he shouts it to the cook in Spanish and almost instantly it is ready. He also asked if I wanted corn or flour tortilla which lets this guy know he is about as authentic as it gets.
If I were you I would plan a picnic in Logan Square just to hang out with Honest Tom. I can’t wait to go back and I secretly hope Tom likes me on Facebook.
