In the old Apollinare Restaurant has a new owner and a new name: King’s Oak. It sounds a bit heavy for the easy going hipster scene…but hey what’s in a name. The menu is growing by the week so we decided to stop by after Kids Music Thursdays and check it out.

First let me say the waitresses were all over me. They were sweating me hardcore but I get it. Ever since Ben Harper and I started rocking the same Wood Shop hat the ladies have been circling me.

Back to business…tonight I reviewed the boardwalk pizza, calamari, ice water and greek salad. I did not love the Greek salad or the calamari but let’s talk pizza. The boardwalk pizza is an upside down pizza with the  cheese on the bottom and sauce on the top. Good pizza is hard to find and this was pretty good and I will be back. I will be honest I want this to place to succeed because we need some more options in the No Libs community.

Like Henry I really want this place to do well because we need more options in Northern Liberties. The staff was super from start to finish. The place is great for families because you have the whole piazza to play in until the food arrives. The pizza was pretty good and we will go back. I hope this place continues to get better as they ramp up and I think it is worth stopping in.

The three of us split a pizza, calamari and a salad for $30.00.
