I miss very few things about my time in Rittenhouse (unlike my husband). MeMe and Chef David Katz is on the top of my list for things I miss. Fried Chicken Thursday is something you need to check out if you have not already. When he first started it was the neighborhood secret but I walked into a packed house today so it seems the secret is out.

When you walk in you don’t even have to think because fried chicken, the best buttery biscut you have ever had and a side is the only thing they are serving at Thursday lunch.  The chicken was so good that I had to tell myself to slow down. Ollie pulled up a high chair and quickly when to work on his very first taste of MeMe Fried Chicken Thursday.

Talking dinner time MeMe is an all around great place to take your family. Busy with great food that will satisfy any foodie…big or little. Chef David Katz has two little ones of his own so this is one spot you don’t have to worry about bringing kids. Like MeMe on Facebook and next snow storm you will probably get a new messsage saying “we are open and serving grill cheese and ham and bean soup and hot coco” Sounds like basic comfort food but I promise you there is nothing basic about the food at  MeMe.

Here is what you need to know:

Parking is not bad and you never have to park more than a block away

MeMe is family friendly but cozy so leave the stroller at home

The only day they do lunch is Thursday

Can’t make it for lunch…go for dinner

The wait is not long for the chicken but they are busy so bring snacks for the little ones

The best time to go is right at 11:30 or 1:00. You will beat or miss the rush at those times
