Federal Donuts

We are usually all dressed up with no where to go at 7:00 a.m. every day….trust me it is not my choice. But until the kids learn to sleep in this is the way it is. This Saturday morning was a little different as we piled in the car and headed to Federal Donuts in South Philly. 
Federal has a fixed up dive look from the outside and a full on retro feel inside. It is minimal, friendly and all about the ingredients. I took one for the team and tried all the donuts (being a mom blogger has its moments). I have to say that the lux combinations like Passion-fruit poppy and Indian spice were not my favorite but the freshly made still warm Appollonia rocked my world. With in seconds of being there the boys were covered in sugar from the samples on the counter. Within seconds after getting our bag of hot donuts they were covered again. They are awesome and worth the trip and the parallel park.
You need to go. You need to go and get donuts here and tell no one and keep them all for yourself.
