Last weekend we grabbed sandwiches from Paesano’s on Girard. I think Paesano’s is better than Jim’s, Pat and Geno’s Steaks. There is more flavor, more spice and you can tell that meat has been marinated for a long time. If you want a really killer sandwich in Philly I would have to say the HipsterHenry.com crew votes for Paesano’s.

And I am going to recommend its namesake sandwich the Paesano ($8) which comes with the following: Beef Brisket, Horseradish Mayo, Roasted Tomatoes, Pepperincino, Sharp Provolone & Fried Egg.

The spot might be tiny but they are big on Philly personality. Instead of making you feel nervous like you have to get your whole order out in 3 seconds, like the other places,  they ask everyone that all came in at once to shout their order out at the same time to test their skills. It is just a different vibe. We brought the stroller in only b/c it was cold out but the spot really does not have enough room for one. There are a bunch of bar stools if you want to sit at the counter but you can forget about highchairs in this spot. Take it home if you have wee ones.

I have tried to do catering from Paesano’s and it ended up being too complicated and confusing but their food is excellent and I would give it another shot.
