The Art Center just started their Fall 2011 round of classes at their new location in Queen’s Village. They have taken over the old Thrift for Aids space on Bainbridge. From creepy to bright and sunny the space has been transformed. It can be really hard to find classes for 2 year olds ( most start at 3) so I was really glad to find the Art Start classes they offer during the week and on the weekends. They have a really great deal going on right now that if you sign up with a buddy you both get 50% off the price of the class. You kinda can’t beat that. So instead of $135.00 you are paying $67.
On the first day we did drawing, painting, pasting and clay. The class has structure but is not ridged. The kids learn to get messy with new materials and learn to listen and follow instructions. Attention spans are as short as the students and I got the impression that the Art Center gets that. The instructor Jill did a great job of moving onto the next project right before they got tired of the current one. We were really happy with the class and looking forward to seeing our buddies their next week. So the Art Center gets a Hipster Henry thumbs up and we do recommend you checking it out.
It is not too late to sign up if you are still interested in the Fall semester. Sorry I did not take more picture…we were busy creating. Occupational hazard I guess
