Right away when we walked in we found out that Kid’s Junction is under new ownership as of 2 weeks ago. They are planning on making a bunch of changes, including the name. Until those changes take place I am going to review it as is…It is pretty rare that we go to a kid’s place on Sunday because the majors (Please Touch Museum & Franklin Institute) are packed and the little ones (My Little Adventures & Jellybean Jungle) are closed for birthday parties. But Kid’s Junction is open everyday for open play so I thought we would check it out. 20 minutes over the Ben or Betsy and a little passed the CoCo Key Water Resort nestled in the back of an office complex is Kid’s Junction.

The play place is a big U with a climbing maze with nets, gym mats, tubes and slides that is perfect for 7 and under. There is also another one that is for the 3 and under crowd. That is the main attraction and where we spent most of our time. Around the rest of the place are mini store fronts like a vet, diner, market, post office and theater. For the most part the town sections are lacking “stuff.” The post office needs more things to stamp and put in slots. The supermarket only has one shopping cart which I thought was weird. There are also arcade games which I don’t love because I want the boys to run around and play instead.

The boys had a really good time and we played their for about 90 minutes. The climbing maze was big enough for us to fit in so they loved getting “trapped” with us and sliding down the slides. Henry cried when it was time to go.

The Low Down:

• I would go back there if we were all out of options on a Sunday but that is pretty much the only reason.
• The pictures on the website are deceiving and do not fit what I saw at the Mt. Laurel location.
• The place starts to get busy as it gets closer to 12:00 p.m. Before then you have the place to yourself.
• Small enough that you can keep an eye on your crawler and walker. *Hard to do that in the climbing maze because there are some steep drop offs for little ones.
• As far as value this is on the more expensive side. For two kids the Jellybean Jungle is $19- , Kid’s Junction is $17-, My Little Adventures is $11- and hands down the best spot to take your kids.
• Outside food is not allowed in because they have a cafe but the cafe did not appear open. There was a sign that they were working on a healthier menu. I think that outside food should be allowed in until they are fully operational. Also there are a ton of local options around that I would rather take the kids to.
• The other parents were not social (you know that is always a big deal to me) and they were reading books, zoning out and one mom was even asleep on her husband’s shoulder. I feel her pain but between low energy parent’s and beat music the place is a touch depressing.
